Whole wheel of approx 1,35 kg of Reixagó Blau de Jutglar artisan raw cow´s blue cheese, from the town of Olost - Lluçanès (Barcelona), Catalonia.
Blue cheese with a soft paste and mixed coagulation. The paste is yellowish-white with greenish streaks, with a rough, caramel-green rind with a rough, caramel-green rind with whitish patches. The texture is creamy and the flavour is balanced and intense.
This cheese was chosen as the Best Cheese of the Pyrenees in the last edition of the Fira de Formatges de La Seu d'Urgell competition of 2021.
The Reixagó estate (Finca Reixagó), very close to Olost del Lluçanés (Barcelona), is a centuries-old farmhouse and agricultural and livestock farm which, like all those in this natural region, has undergone a long series of changes and agricultural uses to the rhythm of history at any given time.
The Majó Grau family, owners of the farm, have been raising dairy cows for more than 50 years. But it was only a decade ago that they decided to set up a modern and functional artisan cheese factory on the property to process exclusively the raw cow's milk they produced. This milk is used to produce a wide range of soft or pressed cheeses, including large cheeses and cooked cheeses. All of them have won many awards.
