Can of 112 gr (81gr drained) of Zallo White tuna belly (Ventresca de Bonito del Norte), in ecological virgin olive oil, from the Cantabrian Sea, and prepared in Bermeo (Basque Country). Sourced from a MSC certified sustainable fishery
The Ventresca de Bonito del Norte (thunnus alalunga) is captured in the Cantabrian Sea between the months of June and October. It is characterized by its white and tender flesh (it is the softest part of the tuna), soft flavor, and juicy texture. Ventresca, also known in Spain as "ijada" or "vientre", is the lower part of the fish, located just below the head.
Doctors and nutritionists recommend the consumption of northern bonito for its high content of Omega-3, contributing to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is presented in thin fillets in olive oil. Hand-packed and sterilized.
When we eat white tuna, we are eating healthy and wholesome food, essential for a balanced diet. Its high nutritional value increases when it is canned. In addition, canned white tuna can benefit from the added nutritional value of other products (such as olive oil).
White tuna belly is rich in proteins (of high biological value) and contains a large quantity of vitamins (A, B, B12, and D, as well as E, which has a protective antioxidant effect). It provides minerals such as calcium and iodine, which are essential for metabolism.
Its meat is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which contribute to lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. This helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, omega-3 is essential in nervous tissue and in the retina, as it forms part of its cells.
It is a highly recommended food for the full neurological and ocular development of children, as the retina and nervous system are still in formation.
